Specimen Requirements

Dacron or Rayon swabs of the lesion or tissue saturated as much as possible are placed in a screw top plastic tube with no additional media, gel or other liquid. Please place this specimen tube in a whirl pac or ziplock type bag for secondary containment.
Shipping container
Styrofoam box with an outer cardboard shell. Place the submission form in a separate whirl pac or ziplock type bag. Please send cold to preserve the specimen.

Results reported Monday to Friday. Following the guidelines listed under the Submitted Specimen Requirements will provide an adequate sample volume to conduct this test. If multiple tests are to be requested on a specimen, there may not be adequate sample volume to perform each test. Please submit an adequate sample volume to meet the requirements of each test.
