Minnesota Poultry Testing Laboratory - Willmar facility
The Minnesota Poultry Testing Laboratory (MPTL) is a satellite laboratory located in Willmar, Minnesota. We provide disease surveillance for the poultry industry and perform all the of the testing required for Minnesota's National Poultry Improvement Plan of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The Poultry Testing Lab does not accept after-hours sample delivery.
Courier service
Beginning Monday July 24, 2017 the MPTL began a daily courier service (M-F) to the UM-VDL in St. Paul. Samples, culture plates and other specimens for testing at the UM-VDL in St. Paul must arrive at the MPTL by 9:30 am for same day delivery. Shipments will arrive at the UM-VDL early afternoon for same day processing. Samples arriving after 9:30 am will be sent the next day, samples/specimens arriving after 9:30 am on Friday will be stored and sent on Monday. This timeline will enable MPTL staff to assign case numbers in the VDL-LIMS before being sent. There will be no cost to poultry producers or veterinarians for this service, please take advantage of it. There is no courier service on days that MPTL is listed as closed and St. Paul is listed as open or reduced operations.
