The procedure will include the necropsy, histopathology, bacteriology and molecular diagnostics (some of which may be performed at a referral laboratory).

Results are reported the following business day if samples are received by noon the day before. The specimen preparation described will inactivate bacteria on the swab and so is not suitable for obtaining typical culture and sensitivity results. Do not submit untreated swabs for this Tularemia PCR. The purpose of the sample inactivation is to facilitate safe transport and laboratory handling. Please contact the lab with questions.

Following the guidelines listed under the Submitted Specimen Requirements will provide an adequate sample volume to conduct this test. If multiple tests are to be requested on a specimen, there may not be adequate sample volume to perform each test. Please submit an adequate sample volume to meet the requirements of each test.

The Avian Metapneumovirus (aMPV) ELISA Subtypes A,B,C ELISA is the default aMPV ELISA test unless otherwise specified on the submission form by the submitter.  Testing  is performed when a sufficient number of samples are available.  Samples must arrive prior to the day of testing, same day testing is not available.
