This assay is validated for the turkey and chicken sample types noted above. The assay is expected to detect Reovirus in pigeon and quail samples but has not been validated for these species. Unvalidated species submissions can be tested but will be reported with a disclaimer. Likewise, the assay is expected to detect Reovirus in spleen, liver, heart, intestine, tissue homogenate, pancreas, synovial fluid, joint swab, egg shell, and BHI media but has not been validated in these sample types.

This PCR is turkey-specific. The specimen types listed for this test will provide an adequate sample volume to conduct this test. If multiple tests are requested on a specimen, there may not be adequate sample volume to perform each test. Please submit an adequate sample volume to meet the requirements of each test.
