M-F. In most cases, samples need to be received by noon the day before the scheduled test day. Tissue and fecal samples require more processing time and need to be received two days before the scheduled test day.

Description

Results reported Monday to Friday. Following the guidelines listed under the Submitted Specimen Requirements will provide an adequate sample volume to conduct this test. If multiple tests are to be requested on a specimen, there may not be adequate sample volume to perform each test. Please submit an adequate sample volume to meet the requirements of each test.

Test update

On April 28, 2025, the Molecular Diagnostics Section at the VDL will offer a PCR test to detect the presence of Toxoplasma gondii in bovine, caprine and feline samples.  Please click here for more details.
